Thomas M. Moriarty

Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel, CVS Health

Thomas Moriarty is Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel for CVS Health. In this role since October 2012, Moriarty leads the company’s enterprise strategy and corporate development, pharma trade relations, retail pharmacy reimbursement, legal and regulatory teams. Moriarty also serves as Chairman of the Board of Red Oak Sourcing, Inc., the global generics sourcing venture formed with Cardinal Health. A seasoned executive with many years of experience integrating strategy and corporate development with legal, regulatory and government affairs, Moriarty most recently served as General Counsel at the Celgene Corporation, a biopharmaceutical company, where he was responsible for global legal strategy and served on the company’s Management Committee.

Prior to that, Moriarty spent 12 years at Medco Health Solutions where he served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, and also as President of Global Pharmaceutical Strategies. He served on the company’s Executive Committee where he was responsible for leading the team that developed and executed Medco’s strategic merger with Express Scripts. Previously, Moriarty worked at various positions in the Office of the General Counsel at Merck & Co., the global biopharmaceutical company. He began his career at the law firm of Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander and Ferdon in New York.

Moriarty received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College.
