CVS Health has been honored by the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce(NGLCC) and its partners in the National Business Inclusion Consortium (NBIC) with a 2018 Best-of-the-Best Award. This is the second year in a row that CVS Health has received the recognition, which is reserved for companies that demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion across all communities.
“This designation is highly competitive and is bestowed only to corporations that we see constantly striving to strengthen and celebrate diversity,” NGLCC Co-Founder and President Justin Nelson said. “These corporations being honored are true leaders in ongoing global commitments to create a better future for all diverse communities in business.”
A Culture of Inclusion Drives Innovation in the Workplace
Creating and sustaining a culture of inclusion in the workplace is a top priority for CVS Health. We serve millions of people per day in communities across the country and we believe that our workforce should reflect the diversity of those communities. For these reasons, CVS Health has implemented numerous programs and initiatives aimed at diversity in the workplace. These include a supplier diversity program, colleague resource groups, inclusive workplace policies and benefits packages, various workforce development initiatives, and workplace engagement opportunities.
CVS Health was one of 45 companies that received the award from the NGLCC and the NBIC, a coalition that has advocated for the business interests of diverse range of people, including LGBT individuals, ethnic minorities, individuals with disabilities, and women. The coalition was spearheaded by the NFLCC and is comprised of organizations including the United States Black Chamber, Inc., United States Business Leadership Network, United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, United States Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce, and Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.
