Points of Light Names CVS Health as One of 50 Most Community-Minded Companies

For the second year in a row, Points of Light has named CVS health an honoree of The Civic 50, an annual list that recognizes the 50 most community-minded companies in the nation. CVS Health's recognition among the Civic 50 follows the recent release of the company's 2017 Corporate Social Responsibility Report which highlights a year-round commitment to driving community impact.

Established in 2012, The Civic 50 is intended to showcase companies that have established effective frameworks for responsible corporate citizenship. Companies with operations in the United States and revenues of $1 billion or more are eligible for inclusion on the list. These companies are graded according to community engagement efforts across four dimensions: investment, integration, institutionalization, and impact. Grades are established according to responses to a survey developed by a team of academic experts and administered by True Impact, an organization that provides tools to help companies measure their social impact.

In 2017, CVS Health provided more than $100 million in philanthropic support through the CVS Health Foundation, corporate grants, in-kind gifts, employee giving and fundraising and other community investments. Through our Be The First initiative, which is helping to deliver the nation's first tobacco-free generation, we’ve helped reach more than 4 million young people with healthy behavior programming and are helping 146 colleges and universities advocate for, adopt and implement tobacco-free campus policies.
