Denver – Aetna (NYSE: AET) announced today that it was selected by the Greeley-Evans School District 6 to administer health benefits to its 1,700 eligible employees and their dependents. The contract goes into effect July 1, 2015.
“We are honored to have been selected by the Greeley-Evans school district, and we will work hard to achieve maximum savings for the school district while providing access to quality care and service to the school district employees and their dependents,” said Tom Dameron, president of Aetna’s Mountain States.
“Every year, we search for a way to give our employees the best health care coverage possible while keeping down the costs for our school district,” said Interim Superintendent Wayne Eads of the Greeley-Evans School District 6. “Aetna came through with a proposal this year to do just that, and we are excited to work with them.”
Under this contact, Aetna will provide two separate heath plan choices, including the new Aetna Whole Health℠ – Colorado Front Range product that is designed to increase member engagement, improve health outcomes and reduce costs while enhancing the member experience. In Northern Colorado, members who choose Aetna Whole Health will have access to the Banner Network Colorado providers and facilities in addition to the rest of the Aetna Whole Health℠ – Colorado Front Range network, which includes more than 900 primary care doctors and 4,400 specialists, 37 hospitals and 50+ urgent care facilities.
“We are extremely pleased to be working with Aetna in this accountable care collaboration, and our primary care providers look forward to serving as the health care home for District 6 covered members,” said Paul Kellogg, vice president for Banner Network Colorado and Western Region Business Development. “Our goal will be to provide these individuals with personalized and coordinated care at the most affordable cost.”
