We are incredibly excited about this week’s grand opening of our first CVS Pharmacy in Target locations. This is an important milestone as we begin serving patients from more than 1,600 Target stores across the United States.
As we prepared for this day, we asked Target pharmacy guests what mattered most to them. As you might expect, service, convenience and the relationship with their pharmacy team were at the top of the list.
With this feedback in mind, we planned a transition to our services and programs that would be as simple and seamless as possible. For example, prescriptions will be automatically transferred from Target to CVS Pharmacy to avoid disruption in service. Prescriptions will continue to be ready when promised. And since approximately 14,000 of Target’s in-store pharmacy and health care professionals are joining our CVS Health family, patients will receive care from a team they already know and trust.
Although much remains the same, there are some significant enhancements that our newest CVS Pharmacy patients can expect, including:
- Access to expanded wellness options provided by our trusted team of health care professionals, including Maintenance Choice, Pharmacy Advisor and Specialty Connect.
- Convenient and easy-to-use digital tools, such as the CVS Pharmacy app and CVS.com, which can help patients manage prescriptions and stay on track with medications.
The conversion will also expand the pharmacy network available to patients who are CVS Caremark plan members. In fact, with the addition of CVS Pharmacy in Target stores, millions of new patients can take advantage of our industry-leading suite of pharmacy programs, improving outcomes for patients and lowering costs for clients.
